The following illustrations are creative interpretations that resulted after intimate interviews with heavily tattooed bodies. The questions for the interview were formulated in a way that the first would provide us with background general information about the participant. After that, they were asked about their tattoos and their stories. This enabled the research to go straight into what was relevant, that is Narratives and values of the individual. To get a more wholesome idea of what the individual is about they were asked a question about how they feel perceived by society and if they felt their gender made a difference in how the world looked at them as a heavily tattooed body. After that, I listened to the whole recording again and wrote down points about things the participant talked about. The second step was to create a morphological matrix made up of memories and tattoos. This was a laborious method that required an investigation of memory, personality, and tattooed images. When the sketches were finalized, I created these large scale black and grey, illustrations on paper.
